What do we invest in?
We are flexible, investing in control and minority positions.
Control investments.
Control positions in US-based DTC/eCommerce companies in distressed or special situations with revenues between $20m to $50m requiring a buyer that can move quickly – our industry specialization allows us to do just that.
We have a strong preference for brands with in-house manufacturing operations based in the US or Mexico.
Growth Equity.
As flexible non-control investors, we invest in everything from traditional post-revenue growth rounds, to turnarounds & special situations.
Our operating background means we do more than write a check – we work with you side-by-side to grow your company sustainably by providing access to our in-house team of eCommerce & DNVB experts. Our team is fully capable of managing all business functions down to a tactical level; portfolio companies often leverage us as an extension of their team.
Minority investment targets typically have anywhere from $5,000,000 to $25,000,000 in revenue, can be cash-flow positive or negative and are based in the United States or Canada.

A Fast Fast-Fashion Turnaround
Provided capital & expertise to profitably grow revenue by 12x in less than 18 months without incurring dilution beyond Karta’s initial investment. Company was less than two weeks away from filing for bankruptcy on entry. Retained original founders.
Super Charged Growth Equity
Worked alongside original founders to in-house several business functions & grow valuation by 10x+ in less than 14 months. Helped create a significant liquidity event for founders on exit. Company was originally considered uninvestable due to industry. 100+ investors had previously turned the company down.
Minority Equity Partners for a DTC Turnaround
Grew revenue profitably by 6x in less than 24 months without raising additional capital. Worked alongside founding team to restructure debt, handled financial management efforts, successfully acquired manufacturer allowing the company to go vertical and grow EBITDA margin significantly. Company was severely distressed on entry.
Hobbyist DTC Brand Turnaround
Acquired a severely distressed niche DTC brand that was days away from missing payroll. Navigated four lawsuits, negative PR, a toxic debt load, severe supplier disruptions & more on entry. Grew revenue by an average of 134% per quarter & reached profitability in 10 months.
